New Haven, Connecticut – September 11, 2025 – The film ‘Shadows of the Big East,’ adapted from the globally acclaimed book, is confirmed for release over Halloween weekend.

Within the vast, alternative urban landscape of The Big East, a seemingly innocent Halloween prank escalates into a complex kidnapping, sending shockwaves through the city. Seasoned Detective Charlie Dawson—known for his short temper, resilience, and sharp instincts—approaches the investigation unconventionally, scrutinizing subtle cues like eye blinks, facial expressions, and unspoken nuances. Despite the city’s advanced technology, Dawson relies on his traditional observational skills, detecting truths that modern algorithms often overlook.

As Dawson navigates a path through illicit back-alley networks and opulent power centers, he encounters a formidable adversary: a former special-operations soldier consumed by grief over his son’s death, determined to seek vengeance by any means necessary.

Against his protests, Dawson is then assigned three rookie detectives to this high-stakes investigation. He views their presence as a liability, particularly given The Big East’s surge in violent crime and corruption, which has transformed this cold case into an explosive situation unsuitable for inexperienced officers. As Dawson closes in on the truth, the case becomes increasingly dangerous, and the rookies’ lack of experience threatens to jeopardize the investigation—or worse.

Concurrently, reporter Ms. Kelsey Rowles provides crucial, precise intelligence that repeatedly astonishes Dawson. Though he has many casual acquaintances, her unique voice and gentle humor effectively temper his quick disposition, fostering a genuine connection amidst the chaos. As their investigation progresses, she ventures too deeply, placing herself in immediate danger.
