Jimmy Kimmel hosts the 96th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeleson March 10, 2024.

Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night program is scheduled to recommence on Tuesday, following its suspension due to pressure from a leading federal regulatory body.

Kimmel’s broadcast was halted because of remarks he delivered concerning conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was killed on September 10th.

His suspension sparked worries, given that it occurred shortly after Brendan Carr, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, indicated he would pursue action against ABC.

ABC’s parent company, Disney, announced that “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” is slated to return on Tuesday.

“Last Wednesday, we decided to halt production of the program to prevent further exacerbating a sensitive situation during an emotionally charged period for our nation,” Disney stated in a Monday announcement.

“This decision was made because we deemed some of the comments to be ill-timed and consequently insensitive. We have engaged in constructive dialogues with Jimmy over the past few days, and following those discussions, we concluded that the show would return on Tuesday,” the statement further detailed.

Carr, who was appointed by President Donald Trump, remarked regarding Kimmel’s statements: “We have two options: the simple path or the difficult path. These corporations can implement measures concerning Kimmel, or the FCC will face further tasks.”

Trump applauded the suspension of Kimmel.

“Excellent news for America: The ratings-struggling Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED,” the President posted on Truth Social. “Commendations to ABC for at last finding the resolve to execute what was necessary. Kimmel possesses NO talent, and his ratings are even poorer than Colbert’s, if such a thing is conceivable.”
