Sunshine Coast, Queensland – October 28, 2025 – Jackson Smith-Leishman is realizing an extraordinary ambition, transitioning from a modest dance studio on the Sunshine Coast to the prestigious stages of Paris, a journey East Coast Freight Distribution (ECFD) proudly supported.

Starting his dance career at the age of ten, Jackson has consistently honed his skills across various genres, including classical ballet and hip hop. His unwavering commitment and remarkable talent led to his successful audition for the Prix de Lausanne, a globally recognized annual competition in Lausanne, Switzerland, aimed at aspiring professional ballet dancers. Jackson was one of only six dancers chosen to represent Australia.

Achieving finalist status, Jackson attracted multiple offers from elite international academies, eventually choosing to attend The Royal Ballet School in London. This move from Australia to study at such a highly esteemed institution marked a pivotal point, yet it also presented considerable financial and personal hurdles.

Acknowledging his exceptional promise, ECFD extended crucial financial aid, covering expenses for travel, instruction, and accommodation. This assistance enabled Jackson to fully embrace the chance to train with leading professionals, perform internationally, and gain exposure to top ballet companies. Post-graduation, Jackson’s diligence and dedication paid off when he secured a professional engagement with the Paris Opera Ballet, widely regarded as one of the world’s premier companies.

Currently, Jackson is gracing the stage in the classic ballet Giselle, an enduring narrative of romance, sorrow, and reconciliation. His performances reflect not only his individual accomplishments but also the enduring faith of the Sunshine Coast community that supported him.
