(SeaPRwire) –   Mistral AI, recognized as a prominent artificial intelligence firm in Europe, has procured $830 million in fresh debt. The French enterprise stated its intention to allocate these funds towards purchasing 13,800 Nvidia chips for a forthcoming data center located just outside Paris.

This marks Mistral’s initial foray into debt financing. The arrangement received support from a collective of seven banks, among them BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole CIB, HSBC, and MUFG.

The planned data center will be established in Bruyeres-le-Chatel, a town situated to the south of Paris. Mistral anticipates the facility will be operational by the second quarter of 2026.

According to CEO Arthur Mensch, expanding infrastructure throughout Europe is a key objective. “Scaling our infrastructure in Europe is critical to empower our customers and to ensure AI innovation and autonomy remain at the heart of Europe,” he stated.

Mistral presents itself as a European alternative to major U.S. AI corporations such as OpenAI and Anthropic. The company provides both AI models and infrastructure services to governmental bodies and businesses.
