The On Site Music Project, a new cross-genre music festival from 798·751, filled the 798 Art Center from November 8th to 10th, 2024, hosting Asia’s largest modular synthesizer music event.

This sprawling festival, covering over 2,000 square meters and divided into eight zones, offered a unique blend of electronic music, contemporary art, and live performance. It fostered an immersive environment where these elements interacted, creating a dynamic experience for attendees.

Part of the International Art Season, the three-day festival featured over 100 electronic musicians from 13 countries and regions, presenting nearly 100 performances.

Collaborating labels DAWless Teahouse, Metasonar, and Pantheon contributed to an exciting lineup of live acts, delivering an exceptional experience.

Two artists further enhanced the event with immersive installations. chenshizen explored the relationship between humanity and nature through plant-based art, while Yang Song used metal sculptures to examine speed, light, time, and space. These installations added a multi-sensory dimension to the festival, enriching the musical experience.

Miranda Yan, Deputy General Manager of Beijing 798 Culture Technology Co., Ltd., highlighted the festival’s aim to showcase Beijing’s creative energy, stating that events like this “provide rooms for inspiration, encouraging people to cross boundaries and explore new creative frontiers.”

798·751 continues to host various cultural and tech events, promoting international exchange and solidifying Beijing’s role as a global cultural hub.
