New conversational AI features include voice locking, vision-based intelligence, and interactive avatars

Agora highlighted key upcoming features of its Conversational AI Engine, including:

  • Voiceprint-based attention locking, which allows for smooth human-AI interactions even in noisy environments with background chatter.
  • Real-time vision-based intelligence, which analyzes visual information alongside spoken conversations.
  • Interactive avatars with natural movements that are synchronized with speech.

These new features are designed to improve the user experience with conversational AI. Voiceprint-based attention locking gives AI agents the ability to focus on the user’s voice, filtering out background noise, similar to the ‘cocktail party effect’ in humans. The integration of visual context enables AI agents to understand the environment; for example, users can inquire about objects in their surroundings or request assistance with visual problems. The addition of interactive avatars gives AI agents a visual presence, making interactions more engaging for applications ranging from education to customer support.
