NANPING, China, April 17, 2025 — The 2025 Fujian Provincial Conference on the Development of Cultural and Tourism Economy commenced in Nanping City, Fujian Province on April 17. The conference’s theme is “Cultivating Cultural and Tourism as the Pillar Industry.” The event anticipates the launch of 115 key cultural and tourism investment projects, totaling a planned investment of 200.7 billion yuan.

The conference intends to stimulate the city and regional economy by hosting a year-long series of culturally rich and technologically advanced events.

Following the opening ceremony on the evening of April 17, the three-day conference includes the Cultural and Tourism Economy Development Conference, the Cultural and Tourism Industry Chain Investment and Financing Matchmaking Event, and the launch of the “Year of Cultural and Tourism Consumption” initiative.

Furthermore, eight associated events, nine major marketing campaigns, and 34 cultural tourism activities are scheduled across the province. Over 1,200 promotional activities will be held throughout the province in conjunction with the conference.

Nanping City is accelerating the development of the “Greater Mt. Wuyi Cultural Tourism Circle,” featuring key projects such as “The Moon Reflecting Mt. Wuyi,” a digital performing arts production; the “Elegance of Fujian” Grand Garden, a cultural initiative; and various tourism routes highlighting the national park, tea, and Zhu Xi’s Philosophy & Cultural Legacy.

Notably, “The Moon Reflecting Mt. Wuyi” utilizes a 270° panoramic intelligent water stage system, combined with digitally controlled water screens and naked-eye 3D technology, to transform the “UNESCO Natural and Cultural World Heritage” landscape into a dynamic artistic display, integrating elements of Zhu Xi’s Philosophy & Cultural Legacy, Fujian culture, and tea culture.

In addition, the Fujian government plans to introduce over 120 public-benefiting cultural and tourism initiatives, including consumption subsidies and cross-mall collaborations, to boost the tourism economy.
