XIAMEN, China, July 12, 2025 — Xiamen launched its 2025 Talent Service Month on July 10, extending an open invitation to global professionals to contribute to the city’s bright future.
The launch ceremony saw participation from over 200 individuals, including distinguished academicians and experts from both China and abroad, representatives from key enterprises and major R&D institutions, and PhD candidates from renowned universities.
Talent-driven innovation yields technological advances
Now in its sixth year, the Xiamen Talent Service Month’s latest iteration prioritized meeting the specific requirements of both talent and businesses. It emphasized achieving more practical matchmaking outcomes and showcased the successful implementation of technological breakthroughs.
In recent years, Xiamen has established global talent workstations to streamline the influx of international professionals. A notable example is the “Heart Sapling Visiting Scholar Program,” initiated by Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital Xiamen University, which has been recognized within the Global Development Project Pool.
During the ceremony, five medical doctors from Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, and Ethiopia shared their experiences. To date, the program has enabled the hospital to forge strategic alliances with leading medical facilities in six nations, drawing 26 young physicians from Asia, the Americas, and Africa for training opportunities in Xiamen.
Synergy between industry and talent fuels key sector growth
The event featured the unveiling of Xiamen’s innovative “Eight-point Policy on AI Industry Talent Development.” This policy enhances extensive support for professionals across vital areas, including talent acquisition, development, assessment, and deployment.
Additionally, the supporting “Top 10 AI+Talent Application Scenarios” were introduced. These scenarios encompass services ranging from policy consultation and implementation to lifestyle assistance in housing, healthcare, education, and immigration. This initiative aims to precisely align advanced AI technologies with Xiamen’s talent services, thereby improving the overall experience for professionals.
Xiamen attracts global talent, enhancing its reputation
Xiamen has consistently welcomed global talent. For seven consecutive years, the city has organized overseas entrepreneurship competitions in regions such as Germany and North America.
This year marks the debut of the Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, designed to strengthen pathways for international talent to engage with Xiamen. The competition seeks top-tier talent projects in fields like the digital economy and biotech. So far, over 300 eligible projects from nearly 20 countries and regions have registered, with almost 90 percent originating from developed economies across North America, Europe, and Asia.
