WILMINGTON, Mass., Aug. 01, 2025 — Heilind Electronics, a major distributor of interconnect, electromechanical, and sensor technologies, has announced that William Sim, President of Heilind Asia, retired on July 15, 2025. Sim was crucial to Heilind’s global growth for more than ten years and was instrumental in building the company’s presence and reputation in Asia Pacific.
Charles Tan has been appointed as Sim’s successor as President of Heilind Asia, effective immediately. Tan previously worked at Future Electronics as Managing Director for Greater China. Tan has 12 years of executive leadership experience in Asia and a strong history of growing complex distribution businesses and driving growth in competitive markets.
Tan holds a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Engineering from Shanghai University of Technology, a Master’s degree in Economics from Fudan University, and an MBA from McGill University.
