SUQIAN, China, April 01, 2025 — The 2025 Jingdong Suqian Marathon commenced on March 30, drawing 15,000 runners from across the globe to compete in Suqian’s scenic landscapes under the spring sunshine.
The marathon route, a 42.195-kilometer stretch, showcased Suqian’s development by taking runners through historical waterways, Luoma Lake, and Santai Mountain, highlighting the city’s progress.
According to the Suqian City Marathon Organizing Committee, the event was dubbed the “most beautiful racecourse” due to Santai Mountain National Forest Park’s vibrant springtime colors, featuring 500 acres of pear blossoms and violet cress. Building on the previous year, the “music racecourse” concept was enhanced with an increased number of live music venues, totaling 60. Performances included dragon and lion dances, folk music, and rock bands, blending with the runners’ pace to create a dynamic atmosphere.
The marathon also incorporated technology and art, featuring robotic dogs at hydration stations and exhibition areas to provide interactive experiences. A drone cooling mist system, utilizing drones with ultra-fine mist sprayers, offered a refreshing experience for runners along the course. Additionally, 70 cheerleaders in traditional Hanfu costumes were positioned at each kilometer marker and the finish line to motivate the participants.
As part of the Grand Canal Marathon Series, the 2025 Jingdong Suqian Marathon offered a novel race experience. Upon finishing, runners enjoyed a gourmet banquet of authentic Suqian cuisine, providing a taste of the city’s hospitality as they celebrated their accomplishments.
