BEIJING, China, July 23, 2025 — Pony.ai (Nasdaq: PONY), a global leader in autonomous mobility at scale, announced the commencement of road testing for its seventh-generation (Gen-7) Robotaxi model, built with Beijing Automotive Industry Corporation (BAIC), in Beijing. The ongoing road tests with multiple Gen-7 Robotaxis mark a significant step towards large-scale production and commercial deployment.
The BAIC Robotaxi fleet is currently operating within Beijing’s 225-square-kilometer High-Level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone. This development means that Gen-7 BAIC and Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) Robotaxi models are now being tested simultaneously in Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. This widespread testing demonstrates the robustness and adaptability of Pony.ai’s autonomous driving system across different vehicle types and urban environments, accelerating the company’s progress toward its goal of a 1,000-vehicle fleet by the end of 2025 and paving the way for large-scale commercial operations in the future.
