QINGDAO, China, July 11, 2025 — The 2025 ASEAN-China (Qingdao) Event of Economic and Trade Cooperation and People-to-People Exchanges, themed “Blue Partnership for a Shared Future,” was held at the Qingdao Haitian Center from July 3-5. The China-ASEAN Centre and the Qingdao Municipal People’s Government jointly organized the event, which included trade promotion activities, cultural exchanges, and tours of significant local development projects. Over 300 delegates from China, ASEAN countries, and international organizations attended.

During the conference, several key initiatives were launched in the presence of esteemed guests. These included the Qingdao Initiative, the China (Qingdao)-ASEAN Youth Exchange Program, the China (Qingdao)-ASEAN Industrial Cooperation Opportunity List, and the “Guoxin Premium” ASEAN Partnership Program.

ASEAN is a key part of Qingdao’s global strategy. The Qingdao Initiative, launched at the conference, focuses on five areas of cooperation: promoting coordinated development, strengthening industrial alignment, deepening sister-city exchanges, expanding educational partnerships, and jointly developing the tourism sector. The initiative aims to boost economic and cultural cooperation and provide new impetus for building a China-ASEAN community with a shared future.

The China (Qingdao)-ASEAN Industrial Cooperation Opportunity List highlights potential collaborations in industrial manufacturing, marine equipment, modern agriculture, biopharmaceuticals, and modern services. Featuring over 100 proposals from more than 100 companies, the list offers a platform to promote business connections between Qingdao and ASEAN enterprises.

The Industrial Cooperation Achievements Exhibition featured over 20 Qingdao companies, including Tsingtao Brewery, Conson Group, and Huatong Group, showcasing their successful collaborations with ASEAN partners through brand storytelling. These examples highlighted existing partnerships and Qingdao’s readiness to expand cross-border industrial collaboration. Shared advancements in digitalization, intelligent manufacturing, and sustainable development signal deeper integration in the industrial value chains between Qingdao and ASEAN.
