JINGDEZHEN, China, Aug. 19, 2025 — The Taoxichuan Art Center has announced the open call for its 2026 “Migratory Birds Project,” an international artist residency program. This program is available to both Chinese and international artists, including those specializing in pottery, glass, and wood art, who are interested in exploring the rich ceramic heritage of Jingdezhen, the birthplace of porcelain.

Taoxichuan Art Center, a prominent international artist residency platform in China, has hosted thousands of artists from 56 countries and regions since its inception. During their stay, artists receive expert creative support and can participate in Taoxichuan’s regular art exhibitions, academic talks, salons, and industry forums.

The Taoxichuan Art Center provides four distinct residency spaces: Jingdezhen International Studio, Taoxichuan Glass Studio, S3 Art Tribe, and S4 Art Soho. The Jingdezhen International Studio focuses on ceramic art creation and cultural exchange, offering a unique platform for global artists to explore and collaborate. The Taoxichuan Glass Studio is fully equipped to support diverse glass techniques, including glassblowing, kiln casting, lampworking, and mosaic glass. S3 Art Tribe features 10 individual studio spaces, independent lecture facilities, a shared pottery room (for throwing), a glazing and electric kiln room, a shared laundry room, and an open space. S4 Art Soho is a multifunctional space that integrates creation, exhibition, and leisure.

Furthermore, the Spring and Autumn Art Fair is a key event for Taoxichuan, held twice annually. Since its launch in October 2017, it has been successfully held 10 times, attracting numerous artists, designers, and craftspeople from around the globe. Besides offering professional exhibition space, the event aids artists in realizing the commercial potential of their work.

The 2025 Spring and Autumn Art Fair (Autumn Fair) will be held in Taoxichuan, Jingdezhen, on October 17, 2025. The China Jingdezhen International Ceramic Expo, thematic exhibitions, art markets, and a series of academic activities will occur simultaneously, establishing a comprehensive platform for global artists.

The application deadline for the 2026 “Migratory Birds Project” international artists residency program is November 15, 2025. The review results will be announced on December 10, 2025, via the Jingdezhen International Studio official website.
