Somnis CBT Successfully Completed, CBT Passes Sell Out in 9 Hours. The game is being improved based on player feedback and OBT scheduled for mid-August.

Seoul, South Korea, Aug. 06, 2024 — Overtake, led by CEO Byoungjae Lee, announced the successful completion of the closed beta test (CBT) for Somnis: Rumble Rush, the first of their three blockchain games set for release this year. The CBT, which ran from July 4th to 12th, featured a $35,000 prize pool and was open only to buyers of non-transferable CBT passes, which sold out within 9 hours of release. This decision to use non-transferable soul-bound tokens (SBTs) for the passes, despite limiting secondary trading, allowed Overtake to cultivate a genuine gamer community, laying the foundation for its future community engagement.

The Layerswap Bridge, crucial for purchasing the CBT pass, experienced temporary overload due to the high global player interest. Besides strong pass sales, players actively participated in the gameplay, achieving an 83% retention rate on the first day and 60% on the seventh day. These figures are exceptionally high compared to typical games, which usually see 20% to 30% retention on day 1 and 10% to 15% by day 7.

Players from numerous countries exhibited high engagement during the CBT, averaging over 10 hours of playtime. They also contributed to community building by creating content like gameplay guides, winning strategies, and play videos.

Overtake plans to launch the open beta test (OBT) for Somnis: Rumble Rush around mid-August. CEO Byoungjae Lee stated, “We plan to present an improved Somnis based on the feedback received during the CBT. We look forward to your continued support and participation in the OBT.” Overtake aims to maintain continuous communication with players and enhance the game’s quality. The successful conclusion of Somnis’s CBT signals a promising launch, generating high expectations.
