HUAI’AN, China, June 19, 2025 — The city of Xuyi in Jiangsu, China, is internationally recognized as the “Crayfish Capital,” celebrated for both its dynamic cultural and tourism offerings and its renowned crayfish. On June 12, the 25th Xuyi Crayfish Festival, organized by the Xuyi Crayfish Association, commenced with lively celebrations.
The celebrations took place along a 3.2-kilometer parade route stretching from Crayfish Square to Kejie Street, where nearly 800 performers entertained tens of thousands of residents and visitors. A key attraction of the festival was the “Joyful Crayfish Banquet,” a three-day culinary event that saw 30,000 tickets sold and over 100 tons of crayfish consumed. Food enthusiasts from around the world enjoyed signature Xuyi crayfish preparations, including thirteen-spice, garlic-flavored, and chilled varieties. Attendees also received discounts on scenic spot tickets, dining, and accommodations.
