On Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots to claim the championship, securing the title for the second time in franchise history.

Entering the game as the clear favorites, the Seahawks controlled the contest from start to finish, securing a 29-13 win at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

The Seahawks’ defense, a season-long strength, generated three turnovers during the game. The Patriots, in contrast, were held scoreless until the final quarter.

The Seahawks’ previous Super Bowl victory, which was the first for the franchise, occurred in 2014 with a 43-8 win over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 48.

For Super Bowl 60, Kenneth Walker III was named the Most Valuable Player, marking the first time a running back has received the honor since Terrell Davis won it with the Broncos 28 years prior. Walker’s 135 rushing yards were among the game’s top offensive displays.

“This is a dream come true, as many players have entire careers without reaching this stage,” Walker stated post-game. “We faced challenges all season, but we remained united. That adversity revealed our true character as a team. We have a brotherhood here, and it’s something special.”

Kicker Jason Myers also set a record by successfully making five field goals, delivering one of the most notable kicking displays in Super Bowl history.

“We never doubt ourselves. We have faith in one another. We care for each other, and today we are world champions,” said coach Mike Macdonald.

In another historic first, the halftime show featured a performance primarily in Spanish, headlined by the event’s first solo Latin artist: Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny. The recent winner of three Grammy Awards, his Super Bowl act was filled with anticipated political symbolism, such as scaling an electricity pole to highlight Puerto Rico’s damaged infrastructure and power outages following Hurricane Maria. Lady Gaga also made an unannounced appearance to perform a rendition of “Die With a Smile.”

As social media reacted to Bad Bunny’s performance, President Donald Trump expressed anger, calling the halftime show “an affront to the Greatness of America.” Trump, who was the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl the previous year, was not present at this year’s game.

“God Bless America,” Bad Bunny said in English to conclude the performance, after naming various American countries and regions. “And my motherland, mi patria, Puerto Rico, seguimos aquí,” which translates to “my homeland, Puerto Rico, we are still here.”
