DINGNAN, China, Aug. 25, 2025 — The 2025 UYC Boys’ U15 and Girls’ U13 World Cup officially commenced this evening at the National Youth Football Training Center. This tournament hosts 32 teams from 11 nations and several regions within China, solidifying its status as a significant international youth football competition.

Before the opening ceremony, visiting international players and coaches explored city landmarks and cultural displays, learning about Dingnan’s extensive football legacy. These visits underscored the event’s dual purpose of fostering both athletic competition and cultural understanding.
Local residents enthusiastically welcomed the championship. Cheering fans filled streets and stadiums, while local families offered warm hospitality, and children eagerly sought to photograph international players. Football transformed into a unifying festivity, reaching well beyond the playing field.
The opening ceremony began at 7:30 p.m. with the national anthem, leading into the inaugural match between the host club, Dingnan Zhu Meng Youth FC, and Italy’s Carrarese Youth. Both teams demonstrated refined skills, notable teamwork, and strong resolve, captivating the spectators. The game concluded in a 1–1 tie, epitomizing the values of sportsmanship and mutual enthusiasm.
Halftime showcased lively cultural performances, such as lion and dragon dances, traditional dance displays, and freestyle football exhibitions. This fusion of heritage and athleticism provided a unique character to the night, drawing enthusiastic applause from the attendees.

Currently in its second iteration, the UYC World Cup holds the distinction as the sole youth football tournament worldwide sanctioned to display the FIFA emblem.
