QINGDAO, China, June 16, 2025 — The 35th annual Qingdao International Beer Festival is scheduled to run from July 18 to August 16 in Qingdao, according to the Qingdao Municipal People’s Government Information Office.
Hosted by the Qingdao Municipal People’s Government under the banner “Qingdao Cheers with the World,” this year’s event will be centered around three primary locations: the West Coast Venue, the Laoshan Venue, and the Qingdao Old Town Venue. Simultaneously, special events will occur across other districts and counties. The festival seeks to stimulate consumption, broaden its international appeal, enrich the visitor experience, deepen cultural involvement, and solidify the city’s standing as the “Beer Capital of China.”
This year, the festival has been extended to a full month, up from 24 days in previous years, to cater to the travel and leisure demands of visitors during the peak summer season.
The West Coast Venue, situated in the Golden Beach Beer City, will feature seven key zones: the star avenue, beer tents, plaza games, casual dining, fashion displays, a beer culture exhibition, and a central stage.
The Laoshan Venue, located in the Century Square Beer City, will present a unique combination of traditional Chinese elegance and European charm, structured around five major activity segments under the theme “One City, Two Scenic Highlights.”
The Qingdao Old Town Venue, primarily based in the Shangjieli and Dabaodao historic districts, will host 20 themed activities focusing on food, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment.
According to the organizers, this year’s festival will showcase over 2,300 beer varieties, a record number, representing more than 400 brands from over 40 countries and regions. The festival will also feature globally recognized gourmet foods, creating an impressive platform for international beer brands and a diverse culinary experience.
Furthermore, the festival will include notable events such as the “Golden Flower Award” Craft Beer Competition, the King of Beer Contest, the Goddess of Joy Selection, and the Qingdao Fashion Sports Festival. World-class performing arts groups and well-known domestic bands will also participate, offering nearly 2,000 performances, including anime carnivals, street performances, art parades, electronic music festivals, magic shows, robot parades, and traditional Chinese operas. These attractions will offer immersive and interactive experiences for visitors, creating a city-wide festive atmosphere.
