TIME has released its list of the World’s Best Brands of 2025, created in collaboration with Statista, a leading international provider of market and consumer data and rankings. Brands play a crucial role in consumer behavior, influencing preferences, choices, and interactions. The purpose of this ranking is to offer an unbiased perspective on how customers perceive and engage with brands. This ranking serves as a resource, enabling consumers to make informed purchasing decisions and navigate the diverse array of available brands within each category.
Methodology
The World’s Best Brands ranking recognizes leading brands globally, commencing with four countries: the , , and the . For this initial phase, Statista conducted an independent survey among 90,000 consumers from these respective nations. Brazil and India are scheduled to be incorporated on December 2, 2025. The top 5 brands across a maximum of 72 categories in each country are awarded.
From August 2024 to June 2025, Statista gathered data using an online panel service provider to ensure a representative sample. During the survey, respondents were asked to specify industries and particular categories in which they possess expertise. In subsequent questions, they had the opportunity to select brands they were familiar with (awareness), brands they recognized through media (social buzz), brands they favored (likability), brands they utilized (usage), and brands they would choose again (loyalty).
A weighted overall score, derived from brand awareness, social buzz, likability, usage, and loyalty, was calculated for each brand in every category. The weighting applied to each dimension was as follows:
- Awareness: 15%
- Social Buzz: 10%
- Likability: 30%
- Usage: 15%
- Loyalty: 30%
In each category per country, the overall score of the top-rated brand was set at 100. Based on this top score, the scores of subsequent brands were adjusted accordingly. For example, a score of 90 signifies a result that fulfills 90% of the winner’s score. The top 5 brands with the best results in each category, for every target country, received awards.
