(SeaPRwire) – On Friday, April 17, Worldcoin (WLD) declined by 13.4% to reach $0.28, coinciding with its parent company World’s announcement of a major update to its identity verification system and a series of new platform integrations.

This decline occurred despite the overall crypto market rising by 2.2%, driven by reports of the U.S. and Iran de-escalating tensions and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
World—co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman—hosted an event in San Francisco to reveal what it terms “World 4.0.” This update positions World ID as “full-stack proof of human” infrastructure designed for consumers, businesses, and AI agents.
The system utilizes a device named the Orb, which conducts in-person scans of users’ faces and irises to produce a unique cryptographic code. After processing, the images are erased, and only anonymized data is shared across a decentralized network.
Senior executive Daniel Shorr said at the event: “World 4.0 is powerful, scalable and open. In the age of AI, being human will be incredibly valuable and the internet will want to know you’re human.”
Sam Altman added: “World ID is on the way to being a real human network for the internet.”
The update includes new features like account-based identity, multi-key support, and account recovery tools. World also launched a dedicated World ID app (currently in beta) that allows users to manage and share their credentials across various platforms.
New Platform Integrations
Video platform Zoom is incorporating World’s “Deep Face” feature to confirm that meeting attendees are real people rather than deepfakes. Electronic signature firm DocuSign is adding World ID verification to its digital contracts.

Dating app Tinder is extending its World ID “verified human” badge to users in the U.S. World also launched a “Concert Kit” tool to assist artists in reserving tickets for genuine people, eliminating scalper bots.
Partnerships in the gaming sector with Razer and Mythical Games were revealed, and Reddit stated it is exploring World’s tools for bot detection.
Enterprise and AI Agent Tools
For enterprise use cases, World is collaborating with Okta, Vercel, and Browserbase. These integrations seek to establish trust layers for automated workflows.
World also introduced “AgentKit,” a developer toolkit that connects AI agents to verified human identities. Coinbase had previously announced in March that it would use AgentKit for its x402 AI micropayments protocol.
Other current partners include Amazon Web Services, Shopify, Browserbase, Exa, and VanEck.
Several critics have expressed privacy worries regarding the large-scale collection of biometric data, especially when overseen by a single company.
WLD is the native token of the World Network, used to incentivize users for verifying their identity and to facilitate transactions within its ecosystem.
