GUIYANG, China, June 21, 2024 — Guanshanhu District in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, kicked off its “Ecological Season” series of activities on June 15, 2024. This marks the third consecutive year of this event, hosted by the Publicity Department of the Guanshanhu District government. This year’s “Ecological Season” features a variety of engaging activities centered around three themes: “ecology + study tour,” “ecology + music,” and “ecology + education.”
Li Yijun, a student from Guangzhou who participated in the “ecology + study tour,” expressed excitement, stating, “This is my first time in Guiyang. I’m amazed by the scenery of mountains, rivers, and greenery I’ve seen on the high-speed train. I hope to learn more about the beauty of natural ecology through this activity and gain both knowledge and fun from the ecological tour.”
In recent years, the ecological environment of Guanshanhu District has witnessed continuous improvement. Air quality has met national secondary standards for six consecutive years. The proportion of good quality surface water in major lakes and rivers has reached 100%, and the acoustic environment quality remains stable. The proportion of good quality urban acoustic environment during both daytime and nighttime is 100%. The district boasts a total of 206 parks, and resident satisfaction with the ecological environment has reached 93.63%.
The continuous enhancement of the ecological environment in Guanshanhu District has also attracted tourists from across the globe. According to the district’s tourism department, Guanshanhu District welcomed 6.39 million overnight visitors from January to November 2023, approximately 420,000 visitors during the 2024 Spring Festival, and roughly 600,000 visitors during the 2024 May Day holiday.
