Sign-ups are now open for this supernatural urban open-world RPG
BEIJING, June 23, 2025 — Perfect World Games, the publisher, and Hotta Studio, the developer behind the highly anticipated supernatural urban open-world RPG NTE (Neverness to Everness), have announced that a new Closed Beta test for Windows PC will be held from July 3-16.
During a special livestream event on Sunday, the team shared details on a wide array of new features, improvements, and additions that will enhance this latest round of testing.
One key addition is the new vehicle requisition and wanted system, which adds more depth to the game’s driving component. Players can now commandeer vehicles throughout the city, but breaking the law will trigger a multi-level warning system that escalates based on their actions.
Players can also race with friends or compete against various racing crews in online street racing challenges to establish dominance on the city streets.
The game’s dynamic weather system has also been updated with new snow mechanics, adding realism to Hethereau with real-time PBR (physically based rendering) snow materials and subsurface scattering effects, making each falling snowflake translucent and lifelike.

NTE is an online RPG set in the expansive open world of Hethereau, built using Unreal Engine 5. In this city, humans coexist with supernatural anomalies. Players will control diverse characters with unique personalities and abilities to explore the city and investigate these anomalies through episodic, comedy-drama storylines.
In addition to the main story and RPG gameplay, players can participate in various activities, such as collecting, modifying, and racing sports cars, buying and designing city getaways, and even running a business. Whatever players choose to do in Hethereau, the experience is designed to be immersive, engaging, and endless.
