Munich, Germany – Sono Motors, a solar technology company, announced that its customers in Germany and Austria can now purchase the Solar Bus Kit through Hofmeister & Meincke. This innovative retrofit solution is designed to reduce diesel consumption and CO2 emissions in public transportation buses. The kit includes lightweight, semi-flexible solar panels that seamlessly integrate onto bus roofs.

Each Solar Bus Kit can save up to 1,250 liters of diesel and 3.3 tons of CO2 per bus annually. The kit is optimized for common 12-meter bus models like the Mercedes-Benz Citaro and MAN Lion’s City.

Hofmeister & Meincke, a long-standing Bremen-based company, is a trusted partner for commercial vehicle workshops, manufacturers, and industries across Germany. With 18 locations nationwide, they are a leading wholesaler of commercial vehicle parts and construction components. They are also part of the FRICKE Group, which operates in 27 countries with 84 locations and over 3,700 employees.

Denis Azhar, Managing Director of Sono Motors, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We are thrilled to work with Hofmeister & Meincke, a company known for its strong track record and reliability in the commercial vehicle sector. Their extensive distribution network will allow us to market our Solar Bus Kit more effectively, contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions.”

Sono Motors will be present at the InnoTrans 2024 in September, and both companies will attend the IAA Transportation 2024, two major trade fairs for transportation technology. These exhibitions will provide an opportunity for interested parties to learn more about their innovative solutions and discuss potential collaborations.
