TMYTEK and HCMF Showcase Advanced Millimeter-Wave Radar Technology for Enhanced Automotive Safety and Intelligence

TMYTEK and HCMF Revolutionize Automotive Safety and Intelligence with Cutting-Edge Millimeter-Wave Radar Technology

TAIPEI, Taiwan, Jan. 08, 2025 — TMYTEK (TMY Technology Inc.) and HCMF Group presented their second-generation Child Presence Detection (CPD) and vital signs monitoring system at CES 2025 (Booth #7230). In late 2024, TMYTEK successfully delivered initial millimeter-wave radar module samples to automakers, demonstrating its manufacturing and delivery capabilities. Both companies invite the automotive industry to explore the potential of millimeter-wave radar technology in automotive applications.

Following the initial 2024 sample delivery, TMYTEK plans further sample shipments for specific projects in 2025, with mass production slated for 2026. The Obstacle Radar Sensor (ORS) enhances vehicle door safety through obstacle detection. Each door integrates three ORS units feeding real-time data to the Door Control Module (DCM) for intelligent door control. A vehicle may use 5-6 ORS units, reflecting the technology’s market potential.

TMYTEK’s second-generation radar module combines CPD and vital signs monitoring in a compact unit for comprehensive in-cabin safety. Its advanced algorithm differentiates between children and adults while monitoring heartbeat and respiration. Its design allows integration into sunroofs or LCD systems for seamless user experience in next-generation vehicles.

TMYTEK Co-founder and Vice President, Ethan Lin, emphasized the increasing importance of millimeter-wave radar technology in automotive applications. He reiterated TMYTEK’s dedication to this area, expanding its use in autonomous driving, traffic monitoring, and smart safety systems to meet evolving market needs.

HCMF Group CTO, Jeffrey Hsi, highlighted the innovative partnership, noting TMYTEK’s technology provides groundbreaking automotive safety and intelligence solutions. This second-generation module enhances safety while simplifying design and improving efficiency. HCMF, a global leader in automotive components, remains committed to collaborating with innovative companies like TMYTEK to deliver cutting-edge solutions and create value for its clients.

The intelligent door system at CES 2025 further showcases TMYTEK’s millimeter-wave radar technology’s capabilities. Precise external obstacle detection during door operation minimizes collision and pinch risks. Combined with HCMF’s anti-pinch design, it improves user safety and convenience. This solution demonstrates a shared vision for advancing automotive safety and intelligent systems. TMYTEK invites CES 2025 attendees to visit Booth #7230 to see the second-generation CPD and intelligent door systems.
