YINGKOU, China, March 19, 2025 — Yingkou City promoted cultural tourism during the 2024-2025 snow season with the theme “City of Light, Encounter with Snow.” The city created four distinct integrated experiences, launched specialized winter tourism routes, and hosted over 100 events. The “Convergence of Light” experience uniquely blends snow and hot springs for visitors.

According to an official from Yingkou City’s Culture, Tourism, and Broadcasting and Television Bureau, the city will further explore its marine hot spring resources, expand the “hot spring +” model, and promote the integration of hot springs with various industries. They will also focus on brand development to enhance the reputation of Yingkou’s marine hot springs, aiming to establish the city as a nationally recognized cultural and tourism destination.

Yingkou City, situated within the Liaoning Coastal Economic Belt, is utilizing its unique marine hot spring resources to pioneer new approaches for cultural and tourism development, thus contributing to regional economic growth.

Yingkou is rich in hot spring resources, mainly found in areas like Xiongyue Town in Bayuquan District and the Beihai Economic Development Zone. The marine hot springs in Beihai are particularly notable, containing minerals and trace elements like metasilicic acid, strontium, lithium, and radon, which are beneficial for health. With a water temperature of 86 degrees Celsius at the source, these springs offer exceptional therapeutic benefits and significant development potential compared to other hot springs in China.

Leveraging its high-quality marine hot springs, Yingkou has actively developed tourism and resort projects. The city now boasts ten distinct hot spring tourism brands, including Tianmu Wellness Hot Spring, Yijiangnan Garden Hot Spring, and the popular Xiongyue Hot Spring Street. A diverse range of accommodations, from high-end hot spring hotels like Hongxigu and Yuelongzhuang to mid-range options and hot spring homestays, have been established, with an annual capacity to host over 13 million visitors. The hot spring industry’s cluster effect is becoming increasingly apparent.

Yingkou City has recently been innovating the “hot spring +” tourism model, with the “hot spring + marine” concept proving particularly successful. An official from the Culture, Tourism, and Broadcasting and Television Bureau of Yingkou City stated that the city is leveraging its coastal advantages by encouraging seaside hot spring hotels to develop unique facilities such as rooms with scenic views, allowing guests to enjoy ocean views while relaxing in the hot springs.

At the Yuelongzhuang Hot Spring Resort, visitors can enjoy high-quality silicate medicinal hot springs rich in minerals while experiencing the cultural charm of a Qing Dynasty-inspired architectural complex, creating a blend of hot spring wellness and cultural immersion. A visitor named Tang Lili commented, “The hot spring experience here is fantastic. You can relax in the hot springs while enjoying views of the sea and immersing yourself in unique culture. This trip has been truly unforgettable.”
