MANILA, Philippines – The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) is still the the employers’ most preferred source of candidates, online job portal JobStreet by SEEK announced on June 30.

PUP, a state-owned higher educational institution, dominated in the information technology (I.T.), HR management, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), manufacturing and wholesale trading.

According to the report, PUP graduates were chosen by the employers because they are effective team players in the workplace.

The University of the Philippines (UP) and De La Salle University (DLSU) ranked second and third, respectively. The study said UP and DLSU benefited from the reputation and alignment of their institutions to the industries of hirers.

The list is followed by University of Santo Tomas (UST) and Mapúa University.

The report also showed entries from schools outside of Metro Manila: Batangas State University, University of Mindanao and University of Cebu.
