(SeaPRwire) –   On Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu disclosed that he was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer, received treatment, and has now fully recovered.

The announcement was made by Netanyahu on X, coinciding with the public release of his annual medical report. The Prime Minister stated he had “asked to postpone its publication by two months to prevent it from being issued during the peak of the war, thereby stopping the Iranian terror regime from disseminating further false propaganda against Israel.” This comes as the U.S. and Iran are observing a fragile ceasefire, supported by Israel, in a conflict that started with Israeli and American forces attacking Iran on Feb. 28. Additionally, Israel and Lebanon have agreed to—and prolonged—a temporary ceasefire following weeks of Israeli strikes against the Iran-backed militant organization Hezbollah.

The 76-year-old Netanyahu said Friday that he wished to communicate that he is healthy and “in excellent physical condition,” but acknowledged he “had a minor medical issue with my prostate that was completely treated.”

“A year and a half ago, I had a successful operation for a benign enlarged prostate, and I have been under regular medical supervision since that time,” Netanyahu said. “During the most recent check-up, a very small spot measuring less than a centimeter was found in the prostate. Further analysis revealed it was a malignancy at a very early stage, with no spreading or metastases at all.”

He reported that his physicians presented him with two choices: either forgo treatment and keep observing the spot, or proceed with treatment.

“You already know me,” Netanyahu said. “Whenever I receive timely information about a potential threat, I prefer to confront it right away. This applies to matters of state and to personal matters alike. That is the approach I took.”

The Prime Minister stated he “received a targeted treatment that eliminated the issue without leaving any sign of it.” He expressed gratitude to his doctors and medical staff and encouraged the public to “take care of your health.”

“The spot vanished entirely,” he said. “Thank God, I have overcome this as well.”
