Super Bowl Cost

Super Bowl LIX, featuring a rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs on February 9th, is generating considerable excitement. However, SeatGeek data indicates that resale ticket prices have dropped approximately 14% compared to the same point before last year’s Super Bowl.

As of Wednesday, the average resale ticket price for Super Bowl LIX is around $10,417, a decrease from the $12,128 average seen the same number of days before the 2024 Super Bowl.

“The Super Bowl consistently ranks among the most in-demand sporting events, and this year’s rematch adds extra appeal. Currently, we’re observing strong early demand, especially from Eagles fans, who are leading ticket purchases,” commented Chris Leyden, SeatGeek’s director of growth marketing. “Although prices are currently lower than last year at this point, Super Bowl ticket prices are known for their volatility, so we’ll continue monitoring the market as game day nears.”

The price reduction may be attributed to this year’s venue, the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Last year’s game, held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas—a significantly larger market—could account for the price difference.

On Wednesday, SeatGeek’s cheapest ticket, including fees, was $5,705, while the most expensive reached $20,674. Ticketmaster showed comparable pricing, with a low of $4,750 and a high of $17,842 (excluding fees).

Further price decreases are anticipated as the game approaches.

The Kansas City Chiefs aim for their third consecutive Super Bowl victory. Their last encounter with the Eagles, the 2023 Super Bowl, resulted in a three-point Chiefs win. An Eagles victory this year would mark their second Super Bowl win, following their 2018 triumph over the New England Patriots.
