TIME and Statista introduced the inaugural ‘America’s Growth Leaders’ in 2025, a compilation ranking the top-performing publicly traded companies across the U.S. This recognition stemmed from a thorough analysis of three core criteria: Growth Performance, Financial Stability, and Stock Performance.
Our Approach
The first criterion, Growth Performance, was evaluated using data from Statista’s revenue database, which compiles company growth figures over the preceding five years. For consideration in this assessment, companies were required to be U.S.-headquartered, publicly listed, and demonstrate substantial revenue growth throughout the past five years. Both relative growth and the number of years in which growth was achieved were factored into the evaluation.
The second criterion, Financial Stability, involved examining companies’ profitability and applying established metrics such as the Piotroski F-Score and Altman Z-Score, which indicate a company’s overall fiscal health and its propensity for bankruptcy.
For firms within the banking, insurance, and REIT sectors, industry-specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) were utilized to accurately represent their financial solidity.
The third criterion, Stock Performance, was assessed based on multiple KPIs that underscore companies’ strength as an investment. The analytical process focused on the average annual growth rate, recent returns, a comparison to the broader market, and the stock’s volatility over the last five years.
Following data collection and evaluation, the information was consolidated and weighted within a proprietary scoring model. Scores from all three criteria were summed on an equal percentage basis to yield a final ranking score, with a maximum of 100 points. The 501 companies achieving the highest scores were honored by TIME and Statista as ‘America’s Growth Leaders of 2025’.
