To compile the list, TIME reporters and editors, with input from Dr. David Agus and Arianna Huffington, consulted various sources and experts globally over several months. Their goal was to identify the 100 people currently exerting the most influence in the health world. The TIME100 Health list represents a diverse community of leaders from various fields—including scientists, doctors, advocates, educators, and policymakers—who are impacting global health.
In their commentary on this year’s list, TIME editors state: “This year stands apart in the history of global health…. Given the significant disruptions of the past year, the TIME100 Health—the 100 most influential individuals in the health sector today—reflects these changes.”
