WEIFANG, China, Sept. 27, 2024 — The 2024 Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival kicked off on September 22 at Shimenfang Square in Linqu County, Weifang City.
Organized by the Linqu County People’s Government, the event showcased the successful agricultural development in Linqu and the flourishing growth of Weifang City. Linqu, a key agricultural county in Weifang, has in recent years actively adopted practices from the “Ten Million Projects” to expand and innovate the “three models” by leveraging regional integration. This has led to significant improvements in agricultural efficiency, increased farmer incomes, and revitalized rural areas, aiming to establish a high-quality model for rural revitalization in mountainous regions.
The Mountain Delicacies and Fine Products Expo featured ten exhibition areas under the theme “Good Meal from Linqu: Mountain Delicacies and Fine Products Exhibition”, showcasing Linqu’s unique agricultural offerings, including alcoholic beverages and dairy products. The venue was abuzz with an impressive array of fruits, diverse products, and lively crowds, accompanied by the joyful laughter of farmers, creating a vibrant atmosphere of harvest.
“Amazing! The foie gras here even has a fruity flavor, it’s truly incredible!” exclaimed Leah, an international student from Weifang Vocational College, while tasting cherry foie gras at the Shandong Chunguan Food Exhibition Area.
The event, marked by celebratory drums, lion dances, and performances, also recognized the contributions of “New Farmers,” pioneers in grain production, and regional brand representatives for rural revitalization, who donned red flowers and received awards. They engaged with the audience in discussions on the ongoing efforts to increase production and income.
