SHENYANG, China, June 16, 2024 — The first China (Shenyang) Comedy Film Week, held in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, from June 7th to 11th, featured a variety of activities, including comedy film screenings, “Shenyang field trips” for comedy filmmakers, and opening and closing ceremonies. The event aimed to foster the integration and development of culture, sports, and tourism by leveraging the comedic cultural heritage of Northeast China and Shenyang’s status as a comedy cultural city. The goal was to incubate high-quality comedy films, cultivate talented filmmakers, and inspire more comedic creations.
The closing ceremony for the 1st China (Shenyang) Comedy Film Week and the Comedy Film Festival was held on June 11th. This grand event featured performances by renowned actors, directors, and performers, offering a spectacle of lights and shadows themed “Delightful Gathering in Shenyang, Blooming with Jubilation” for fans and audiences. Many industry professionals expressed their gratitude to Shenyang for providing a platform for comedians and filmmakers to showcase their work and exchange ideas.
Themed “Delightful Gathering in Shenyang, Blooming with Jubilation,” the 1st China (Shenyang) Comedy Film Week focused on comedy films, invited prominent comedians, and showcased classic and highly acclaimed films. The event also served as a window to highlight the vibrancy of Chinese-style modernization in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, presenting the city’s picturesque scenery, flourishing culture, and developmental progress to a global audience.
